چکیده

A new framework for presenting and analyzing the functionality of a modern DLL-based SAT solver is proposed. Our approach exploits the inherent relation between backtracking and resolution. We show how to derive the algorithm of a modern SAT solver from DLL stepby-step. We analyze the inference power of Boolean Constraint Propagation, Non-Chronological Backtracking and 1UIP-based Conflict-Directed Backjumping. Our work can serve as an introduction to a modern SAT solver functionality and as a basis for future work on the inference power of a modern SAT solver and on practical SAT solver design.

versat: A Verified Modern SAT Solver

This paper presents versat, a formally verified SAT solver incorporating the essential features of modern SAT solvers, including clause learning, watched literals, optimized conflict analysis, non-chronological backtracking, and decision heuristics. Unlike previous related work on SAT-solver verification, our implementation uses efficient low-level data structures like mutable C arrays for clau...

Formal Verification of a Modern SAT Solver

We present a formalization and a formal total correctness proof of a MiniSATlike SAT solver within the system Isabelle/HOL. The solver is based on the DPLL procedure and employs most state-of-the art SAT solving techniques, including the conflict-guided backjumping, clause learning, and the two-watch unit propagation scheme. A shallow embedding into HOL is used and the solver is expressed as a ...

Enhancing Iterative Layering with SAT Solvers

Iterative Layering is an existing pre-synthesis technique that can be used for constructing a near-optimal representation of the input circuit. Originally, the Iterative Layering algorithm uses SAT instances extensively. However, in the original implementation, they are solved either by exhaustive enumeration of all possible assignments of input variables, or by using BDDs. Both approaches perf...

Natural Max-SAT Encoding of Min-SAT

We show that there exists a natural encoding which transforms Min-SAT instances into Max-SAT instances. Unlike previous encodings, this natural encoding keeps the same variables, and the optimal assignment for the Min-SAT instance is identical to the optimal assignment of the corresponding Max-SAT instance. In addition to that the encoding can be generalized to the Min-SAT variants with clause ...
